Stella, age 86, smelled the smoke in time to get herself and her 88-year-old husband out of their burning home – most of their lifetime of memories gone in an instant.

Yet, strangely, what remained, untouched by fire and water damage, were Stella’s brand new sewing machine and the stack of over 100 dresses ready to go on puppets destined for the Children’s Gospel Box.

According to neighbor and CG Box Director Natalie Werking, “She’s giving all glory to God, saying he rescued it all because she’s gotta make puppets!” We need more Stellas. If you’d like to get involved in the CG Box ministry, contact Joy McInnis at jmcinnis@foursquare.org.
